MMC’s Feeling Octopi is more than just a plush stuffy. This cute little sea creature can be
used as a feelings communication tool. One side of the octopus is one colour with a smiley face, the opposite is different with a sad face. This soft creature can be used to help express how someone is feeling without them having to verbally express themselves. Set your octopi up in a safe place and allow the user to let you know how they are doing by choosing which side of the octopus is showing. This is a great way to get the conversation going about one's feelings and how to express them. It is also a useful strategy to know how someone is feeling without pushing them to express it themselves when they aren’t ready.
The octopi can also double as a comfort object for those days when you are feeling a little purple.
